The mission of the Regional Center for Studies on the Development of the Information Society (Cetic.br) is to monitor the adoption of information and communication technologies in Brazil. Created in 2005, Cetic.br is a department of the Brazilian Network Information Center (NIC.br), linked to the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee (CGI.br).

CGI.br
The Brazilian Internet Steering Committee (CGI.br) is responsible for establishing strategic guidelines related to the use and development of the Internet in Brazil, as well as guidelines for the execution of domain name registration, IP (Internet Protocol) address allocation, and the administration of the “.br” top-level domain. It also promotes studies and recommends procedures for Internet security, in addition to proposing research and development programs that ensure the maintenance of technical quality and innovation in the use of the Internet.
