What is the objective of the research?
To investigate access to infrastructure, as well as the use and appropriation that the private sector makes of new technologies, mapping the perception of possible benefits generated for their activities.
What is the importance of research?
The data collected in the ICT Companies survey will contribute to policies related to ICT in the private sector. The results of the study will produce important inputs for the development of the information and knowledge society in the country.
Who supports the conduct of the research?
The research is supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the Institute for Applied Economic Research (Ipea), and a group of experts from various sectors.
Who is the target audience of the research?
Brazilian companies with 10 or more employed individuals that operate in markets considered by international methodologies.
How will the research be conducted?
The interviews will be conducted by Ipsos-Ipec, which is the research institute responsible for data collection. Up to three telephone interviews will be conducted with each company selected to participate in the research.
What happens to the information I give to the interviewer?
Each respondent's answers will always be grouped with those of all other survey participants, who also answer the same questions. The respondent and the company they represent will never be identified.
What is Cetic.br?
The Regional Center for Studies on the Development of the Information Society (Cetic.br) is responsible for producing indicators on the Internet in Brazil that serve as a reference for the development of public policies on technologies such as computers, the Internet, and mobile devices. Cetic.br is a department of the Brazilian Network Information Center (NIC.br), which is linked to the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee (CGI.br) and acts as a Regional Center under the auspices of UNESCO for Latin America and the Portuguese-speaking countries of Africa.
